Have you ever found yourself stuck for a book to kick off a new topic? Looking for a fun way to introduce a new maths topic? or a story that reinforces the letter of the day? Well look no further than this online digital library... Get Epic! I just wanted to do a short post to introduce you to this seriously EPIC! website and app for both school and home and best of all for us teachers, it's absolutely FREE. As a teacher I am continually trying to source books to link in with our learning. It's not always possible to get to the local library or search though what's around the class or at home. So this website is definitely a life saver on those weekend or evening planning sessions. It offer thousands of books in a whole range of genres and reading levels. If you're covering penguins in class all you have to do is use the search tap and hey presto... you'll have a full choice of mixed genre reading material in seconds, and it's good quility reading material too! It is an incredibly user friendly site and can be used by parents and children alike. Other great features on offer is the ability to create profiles for each student/child, create quizzes for post reading assessment, record progress and keep favorites books separately on each profile. I absolutely recommend you sent up your account today*!! Enjoy, Zara *p.s. To set up an educators account you have to have an school or collage email address. I don't so I just emailed them and explained that I was a teacher and they were extremely helpful, asked a few questions to confirm I was indeed a teacher and I was set up with an account in no time!
